My Story
I grew up on a rubber plantation, where the day was measured by the tapping of the trees and the long walk I made to school each morning. It was there, in the corridor of my own home, that I first began teaching Mathematics — as a 14-year-old, patiently walking younger neighbours through the problems that had defeated them.
“What began with a 14-year-old teaching Mathematics in the corridor of his home has grown into a lifelong journey in education.”
In 2002, while still a university student, I began teaching Mathematics professionally, one-to-one. Over the years I moved from the corridor to the classroom, then to full-time one-to-one tuition, and — since COVID-19 — to screens that carry my lessons beyond Malaysia and across borders. The setting has changed; the aim never has. A student does not fail a subject — they have simply not yet found the way in. My work is to find that way in, together.
In 2010 I received the Cempaka Damansara Excellent Teachers Award for teaching performance in Mathematics. In 2017 I was honoured with the Ahli Mangku Negara (A.M.N.), a Malaysian federal honour, for services to education.
More than two decades on, my greatest satisfaction is still the same: seeing students gain confidence, understand Mathematics deeply, and achieve results they once thought were beyond them.

Every student is different. Each lesson is tailored to the student's current level, weaknesses, and examination goals — not a fixed script.
I teach with concept-delivering techniques I call Kumaraveelu's Techniques: use something the student already knows to teach something they don't, so learning feels easy and effortless.
The syllabus is planned to finish six months before the examinations, leaving room for intensive past-paper drilling, exam technique, and stress-free revision. Right after each chapter, students immediately answer Cambridge questions from that chapter.
Just as important: continuous moral support, so students stay positive and confident all the way to results day.
Build strong mathematical foundations.
Strengthen problem-solving skills.
Prepare strategically for examinations.
For students preparing for Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics.
For students who want to master the more challenging concepts and problem-solving required for Add Maths.
For students preparing for Cambridge International A-Level Mathematics.
